I haven't done a food blog lately and this really shouldn't be the one to restart my talk of food but I was in a Walgreen's today buying a birthday card for my niece and at the counter I came across 2 boxes of Oreo Cakesters for 4 dollars. What most if not all of you don't know, is for the past 10 years I've been a Friend of Ernie's, the whole 12 steps. There are two brands of cookies I can not touch, I seriously have an addiction to Oreo's and Nutter Butters. All through my childhood years, High School and College, I could and would down a whole package of those two type of cookies in one sitting. I will have Oreo Cookie Ice Cream once in awhile but I've literally sworn myself off of them 10 years ago. I'm sure you're saying "Oh come on, you can't swear off cookies forever" No I haven't I'm still a cookie addict but I have now controlled it. My Cookie of choice these days is Nilla Wafers, I still buy these about once every two months but don't finish a whole box in one sitting, thank you.
Anyway, at the Walgreens, I was seriously tempted to buy this new Oreo Product because well I had to know.
Seriously though, I guess my question to you all out there is, Have you bought them? Are they any good? I'm guessing they are a let down, I'm a big believer with keeping a great brand GREAT instead of expanding the Brand Line, I'm sure it increase market share but at the expense of the original brand. And my follow-up question is "How does it mix with a glass of milk?
I promise a much better "Food" entry soon but hey not only did I turn the stoners who stop by on to a new snack, I opened the door to a marketing discussion, Should a successful brand branch out to other flavors or concepts?
